Slaughterhouse 28
WAIVER

To PARTICIPATE, you must SIGN the wavier, WEAR the wristband, and BE RESPECTFUL

I (signed) am a willing participant in an informal event known as “Slaughterhouse 28,” the annual "Slaughterhouse" scooter rally generally held over Labor Day Weekend in Chicago, Illinois. I am aware that this not-for-profit event DOES NOT carry insurance and is organized and promoted by volunteers, and that all money collected goes towards expenses or charity. I am participating at my own discretion and risk.

I hereby release and agree to hold any/all organizers, volunteers, sponsors, vendors, and venues of this event harmless from (and waive on behalf of myself, my heirs, and any personal representatives) any and all causes of action, claims, demands, damages, costs, expenses and compensation for damage or loss that may be caused by any act/failure to act, or that therwise arises in any way in connection with my participation. I understand that this release discharges all parties listed above from any liability or claim that I, my family, my insurers, or other representatives may have on my behalf regarding bodily injury, illness, death, medical treatment, property damage, financial/emotional/material loss, or other issues related to my participation.

I am familiar with the inherent dangers of this event and scootering in general, and I choose to participate accordingly, with respect to my and others’ health and general well-being, using common sense and established community standards as my guide. I am in no way obligated to participate in any specific event with which I don’t feel comfortable, and I am welcome to leave at any time. I will show respect for the law, the organizers, participants, venues, other riders, the public, and all property.

I attest that I am, to the best of my knowledge, not currently ill with any contagious disease, have not likely been exposed to any contagious disease, and have taken all reasonable precautions to avoid the spread of contagious desease, including current immunizations recommended by public health professionals.

Permission to participate in the rally can be revoked by organizers at any time for any reason including, but not limited to, accidental or purposeful reckless riding, riding an unsafe vehicle, or general lack of respect for others. Cancellation of, my decision to not participate in, or my ejection from the planned events for any reason does not entitle me to any refund or compensation, nor does it nullify this waiver.
