Waiver

To participate, you must sign the wavier, wear the wristband, and be respectful.

I (signed) am a willing participant in an informal event known as “Slaughterhouse 30,” an annual scooter rally held over Labor Day Weekend in Chicago, Illinois and environs. I am aware that this not-for-profit event DOES NOT carry insurance and is organized and promoted by volunteers, and that all money collected goes towards rally expenses or charity. I am participating at my own discretion and risk.

I hereby waive the right (on behalf of myself, my family, my heirs, insurers, attorneys, or other personal representatives) to hold any/all organizers, volunteers, sponsors, vendors, and venues of this event harmless from any and all causes of action, claims, demands, damages, costs, expenses and compensation for damage or loss that may be caused by any act or failure to act, or that otherwise occurs in any connection with my participation. I understand that this release discharges all parties listed above from any liability or claim that myself, my family, my heirs, insurers, attorneys, or other personal representatives may seek on my behalf regarding bodily injury, illness, death, medical treatment, property damage or theft, financial/emotional/material loss, or other issues related to my participation.

I am familiar with the inherent dangers of this event and scootering in general, and I choose to participate accordingly, with respect to my and others’ health and general well-being, using common sense, the law, and community standards as my guide. I am in no way obligated to participate in any specific event with which I don’t feel comfortable, and I am welcome to leave at any time. I will show respect for the law, the organizers, participants, venues, other riders, the public, and all property.

I attest that I am, to the best of my knowledge, not currently ill with any communicable disease, have not likely been exposed to any communicable disease, and have taken all reasonable precautions to avoid the spread of communicable desease, including current immunizations recommended by public health professionals.

Permission to participate in the rally can be revoked by organizers at any time, for any reason including, but not limited to, accidental or purposeful reckless riding, riding while intoxicated, riding an unsafe vehicle, illegal activity, or general lack of respect for others. Dismissal or ejection from the event, whether voluntary or involuntary, does not entitle me to any refund or compensation, nor does it nullify this waiver.

If my registration includes an Illinois license plate, I attest that I will only display the plate on my vehicle in the manner prescribed by Illinois law. If I have not submitted valid and accurate Illinois paperwork, I will not dipslay the plate on a vehicle at any time.

My registration for this event is non-refundable for any reason including but not limited to weather, illness, travel restrictions, and transportation issues. Registration is not transferrable without the expressed written consent of the organizers.
